| Lynn (Hill) Ellis Write in Candidate for Norwood City Auditor* I was born and raised in Norwood. Graduated from Norwood High School, GO INDIANS! I went to college received an Associates Degree in Computer Analysis. I continued and received a B.A. teaching math courses (algebra, geometry, business math etc.), some english and science in a private school. I have been a bookkeeper, worked in small businesses in payroll, accounts receivable and payable, calculating profit margins, writing estimates & dealt with insurance. I am married to Kent Ellis for 24 years. I have 2 sons, Micah 16 yrs. (10th grade NHS), and Zachery 22yrs, (2007 Graduate NHS and 2011 Graduate of U.C.) Community Involvement Past and Present: Organized West Norwood Clean-up, West Norwood Neighborhood Assoc. past secretary and presently president, Ohio Reads Tutor, P.T. A., Superintendent’s Advisory Board, Neighborhoods of Choice, West Norwood Police Substation, Finance/Business advisory Committee (Norwood City Schools), Historical Society, Vice President Democratic Club. I have been actively watching both the city and schools for 12 years. Perhaps you have seen and heard me speak at council & school board meetings. I believe that the auditor’s office needs to set aside political ideology. As your full time auditor, I will be highly accessible and hands-on to ensure accurate and timely information. Earlier this year, I attended many Finance and Audit Committee meetings. The cuts and additions to the budget flew in and out so quickly, that many , including myself, lost confidence in the revised budget numbers. This simply cannot happen! Data needs to be accurate to make the tough decisions. Inaccurate numbers would jeopardize jobs, services and ultimately the quality of life for Norwood citizens. I was also distressed to hear the cuts to services the majority proposed, cuts that would essentially have closed the health department, crippled the senior center, closed our coveted 911 system and list went on and on. In my opinion, basically closing down our city. It’s time to do what is necessary to keep our city and its services intact! It is time for change in the auditor’s office! It is time to WRITE IN LYNN ELLIS FOR NORWOOD CITY AUDITOR on November the 8th. Thank you for your support. |
